Your data stays on your Mac.

Projects has no account, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. Your projects, logs, templates and backups are stored only on your Mac, and nothing about you or your work is sent to the developer or anyone else. Projects never moves, renames or deletes your files.

When Projects goes online

Only in two cases, both over an encrypted connection:

  • Update check. Once a day, and whenever you look for updates yourself, Projects asks downloads.nikolasschrader.com whether there is a new version. The answer comes through Amazon CloudFront (Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Luxembourg), which sees your IP address. No access logs are kept. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and up to date (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can turn the automatic check off in the app's settings.
  • Catalogs you follow. If you follow a catalog of templates, Projects downloads it from the address you chose, for example a GitHub repository. That host sees your IP address, as with any download; its own privacy policy applies.

Commands you run from a template or a project are your own: they run with your user account and may go online, for example to install packages.

Your rights

The developer stores nothing about you, so there is no data to disclose, correct or delete. You can object to the update check at any time by turning it off. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
