Your data stays on your Mac.

Web Stage has no account, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. Nothing about you or your decks is sent to the developer or anyone else. A deck is a document saved where you choose; it holds your slides, notes, images and demo actions, including any request headers you enter, such as tokens, as plain text. Browser profiles keep their cookies and sign-ins on your Mac until you clear a profile's session or delete it.

When Web Stage goes online

  • Web slides. A web slide loads its page directly from the address you entered, as a browser would. That site sees your IP address, and its own privacy policy applies. Web Stage loads upcoming slides in advance so they appear without delay.
  • Demo actions. A demo action sends the request defined in the deck to the address defined there, when you run it or when a slide you present runs it. If the action is set to use a profile's cookies, they are sent to that address. Actions in a deck made elsewhere run only after you allow them; Web Stage remembers that choice on your Mac.
  • Update check. Once a day, and whenever you look for updates yourself, Web Stage asks downloads.nikolasschrader.com whether there is a new version, over an encrypted connection. The answer comes through Amazon CloudFront (Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Luxembourg), which sees your IP address. No access logs are kept. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and up to date (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can turn the automatic check off in the app's settings.

Your rights

The developer stores nothing about you, so there is no data to disclose, correct or delete. You can object to the update check at any time by turning it off. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
